First Mini Review

Hello hello

Happy Tuesday, almost halfway through the week woo hoo!

Right, so I guess its time to post my first “review” of sorts.  Was thinking about what to do and what I’m currently loving, doing etc. and thought ooh how about a mini review of the two albums I seem to have on repeat.

I want to start by saying I am in no way a music critic and this is purely based on my personal opinion and what I am currently enjoying listening to.  No one has asked me to review these albums.

Justin Bieber - Purpose
First up is an unusual one for me and that’s Justin Biebers new album Purpose.  I’m gonna be totally honest and say that I don’t like Justin, I’ve never really listened to his music so can’t comment on that, I just don’t really like him as a person (harsh I know and please don’t flame me Beliebers), the way he has carried and presented himself etc is just not hot and he was just so annoying. However, that said I am really liking Purpose.  I think I first started liking some of his songs from this album when his single Where Are Ü Now came out.  Then came Sorry and I thought why not try out his album and the rest is history.

I feel like this album is slightly sorrowful in places, but also quite grown up.  Like he has matured somehow and left his bad boy ways behind.  I don’t have a particular favourite song but I do belt out Sorry when it comes on.  Love Yourself is also nice, especially with the brass notes (hope it’s not about Selena) and I’ll Show You stands out.

Purpose also has the right amount of R’n’B for me, takes me back to when I was younger in the days of Usher and Puffy.

All in all I give this a 10 out of 10 and if you haven’t had a listen go for it, even if like me you aren’t a Bieber fan.

Selena Gomez - Revival
Next up and quite ironically is Selena Gomez's Revival.  Again, I’ve never really listened to her music apart from a couple of  songs (Love Come and Get It).  This album I really love.  I’m quite a bass-y person and this has a lot of it for me to blast as loud as I can.  I haven’t listened to it “in ear” yet but am sure it will sound even more awesome.

I found Revival to be quite sassy and sexy and again quite grown up.  Which I find hard with Selena as she is such a baby face that when I see her looking all grown up and going for the sexy look I think “my god someone cover that girl up” forgetting that she’s not Alex from Wizards of Waverly Place anymore, ha ha!

I can’t tell you what my favourite song is as I love them all, but the ones I would listen to on repeat would be Kill Em With Kindness, Hands to Myself and Me and My Girls.

Overall, this is an amazing album and I highly recommend a listen, especially if you are a bass girl like myself.

Lastly, I wanted to talk about Apple Music.  I know its been a bit hit and miss, but I really like the service.  I love how I can pretty much listen to everything that’s hot right now and some.  We have the Family subscription which is £14.99 a month and is linked to your Family Sharing, so the hubster can also use the service as well.

I have gotten such good use out of this, listening to what’s hot currently, old school music from back in the day and generally just everything.  There are some downsides, like they don’t have the Now That’s What I Call Music albums, but then if you feel like it you can just make your own playlist to match.  There are some albums/songs that you can’t get but you would have to search very hard for those.  Am gutted that Adele’s new album isn’t on there as I wanted to have a listen, but other then that I can’t really fault the service.

I think another thing to point out is that we are an Apple Family, so we have an iMac, iPads, iPhones and I have a MacBook Air and none of these come with CD players so it can be a chore having to plug in an external CD drive, so being able to play and go without having to deal with CD’s is a big plus.

Well that’s it for now.  I hope you have enjoyed this mini review and maybe taken something away from this.  As always, please feel free to comment.  I’d love to hear from you and if you have any suggestions of things you’d like to see me review or whatnot please do let me know.

Ciao for now
